What is tokenized COIN?
Tokenized COIN is a blockchain token designed to track the price of Coinbase Global (COIN) shares. Each issuer structures it differently: some hold the real share 1:1 in custody for token holders, and others issue a debt note or certificate that pays like the share. In most cases the holder does not become a registered shareholder and has no voting rights. Tokens can trade around the clock, so their price can drift away from the share price while the stock market is closed.
Which versions exist?
OnchainTicker tracks 12 tokenized versions of COIN from 10 issuers. The largest by market cap is COINb (bStocks (Binance)) and the most traded in the last 24 hours is COINx (xStocks (Backed)).
